File Encryption In One Block is a very basic tool that can encrypt and decrypt single files. It's a showcase for PMC Ciphers' new Polymorphic Giant Block Size Cipher. This cipher currently holds the world record for encryption of the biggest block ever. File Encryption In One Block makes exactly this cipher available to you - configured exactly as for the world record in early September 2010. 


Usage is simple:
Encryption: If you want to encrypt a file, browse for it in the top section of the user interface, specify your password and click at the top button with the green check mark. After a few seconds, your encrypted .pmcenc file will be in the same folder where the plaintext file is located.

Decryption: Simply browse for the .pmcenc file (your encrypted file), enter the correct password and click at the bottom button with the green check mark. After a few seconds, your plaintext file will be in the same folder where the plaintext file is located. If the key was correct, the plaintext file corresponds exactly with the original. If not, the decrypted file will only contain noise.

Please be careful with overwriting files! The software asks you if you want to overwrite plaintext- or ciphertext files.

The software consists of a single executable file. No installer is needed. It can run from any storage device.
When ordering and downloading the software, please select if you want to use the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version. The 32 bit version DOES NOT run under Vista 64 bit and Windows 7 64 bit ! The reason for this is that the software allocates approx. 500MByte during runtime. This is currently not supported for 32 bit programs running on 64 bit Windows.
